Stampede linux

When reading mails from my long-lost HKUST alumni mail account, it reminded me I have subscribed to CSound development list and Stampede Linux list during the very old days.

At that time, Stampede Linux was an active startup Linux distribution with some new ideas. For example, its packaging format (IIRC) is tar + bzip2 + some special headers. Before I lost my email account password, I’ve seen news that Stampede is losing lots of developers (huge flamewar and disagreement, I think). Out of curiosity, I checked its website again. And the result is, it’s very lucky I didn’t participate into its development.

Alumni 戶口還在!

真想不到，科大的 alumni 竟然沒有將我的戶口刪除掉，一直保留到現在。畢業早期，還會用那個見鬼的 mail a/c 的，不過後來因為不見了密碼，所以被迫放棄。昨天不知怎麼的，本來想找科大有沒有關於 computational linguistics 的 e-Journal 可以下載，才知道它要每年繳付某個數目的年費，和有現存的 alumni a/c 才行。聯想起幾年前抛棄了的 a/c，發覺現在竟然很容易就能重設密碼，webmail 還能用……真是神奇 (雖然那小小的 10MB 早就浸滿了 spam)。又有一個可以隨時棄置的 a/c 給我用了，嘿嘿。
