很久沒看 Slashdot 了，稍為瀏覽一下就找到有趣的事：原來 AVG antivirus 會假扮 IE 6 來掃描網站。乍看好像沒甚麼問題，但致命的地方在於它做法粗暴，造成不少人反感，像某些大陸 search engine 一樣。

GNOME people had so much fun lately with jokes on notebook tabs. While some are obvious jokes (like d-bus one and tab on tab), some of the mock-ups really look realistic: gcalctool, banshee, pidgin, totem, empathy, panel, and possibly there are more.
None except Nautilus is real.

想不到一個流言可以延續這麼久。到昨天還收到「聯合國2008年廢除繁體中文」這類鬼話的 chain letter，要大眾一起聯署抗議。我絕不是怪散佈流言的人，有不少都只是本着一腔熱誠，不知那些是假話；我想說的是，一些說話沒有經過驗證就接受成為知識，盲目成為別人的工具，是多麼可怕的事。(小狼的文章已經說得夠多了，令我齒冷的不是聯合國這椿事本身，而是甚麼都盲從這種機械人指令思維。)

Last night I suddenly remembered something others told me, way back when the days I participated in International Mathematics Olympiad. At that time the leader told us Hong Kong participants about some dark truth happened in the past. One of them being that North Korean team has been discredited before. I completely forgot when it happened, but definitely more than 15 years ago.
